Quelle semaine nous avons pass\u00e9e&nbsp;! Nous n\u2019avions pu faire d\u2019essais Pr\u00e9-Bol (fin ao\u00fbt) car le budget nous manquait. Lundi nous retrouvons nos 3 pilotes, 2 anglais qui ne connaissent pas le circuit&nbsp;: David Shoubridge, Tom Oliver (qui n\u2019a jamais fait de course d\u2019endurance) et Gian Mertens (Belge). Nous n\u2019avons pu faire que 4 heures d\u2019essais le mardi puis 2 heures le jeudi pour mettre au point le ch\u00e2ssis, et surtout que les pilotes s\u2019habituent au circuit (seul Gian avait fait les 4 Heures Classic de la Sunday Ride au mois de juin). Apr\u00e8s une heure et demi de roulage chacun, ils sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 en 1\u201958&nbsp;! impressionnant ce temps d\u2019adaptation. Le jeudi matin la deuxi\u00e8me s\u00e9ance d\u2019essai libres les chronos descendent encore 1\u201957. Lors des qualifications le jeudi, Tom sera le plus rapide 1\u201956\u2019\u20194, et dans le tour suivant il am\u00e9liore les 2 premiers partiels, malheureusement au virage du pont un pilote lui coupe la trajectoire \u2026 le 55\u2019\u2019 n\u2019\u00e9tait pas loin&nbsp;!!! c\u2019est lui qui prendra le d\u00e9part la moyenne avec David et Gian nous fera partir en 26<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> position sur la grille. Toute la course a \u00e9t\u00e9 solide sur la premi\u00e8re page du classement, des chronos tr\u00e8s bons, et une fin de course plus difficile pour Tom, mais c\u2019\u00e9tait sa premi\u00e8re course d\u2019endurance. Donc pour l\u2019avenir il sait maintenant quoi travailler dans sa pr\u00e9paration physique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De retour \u00e0 la maison hier soir. Difficile de communiquer sur l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e tant l&rsquo;ascenseur \u00e9motionnel est pass\u00e9 de l&rsquo;euphorie \u00e0 la catastrophe (des pleurs de joie \u00e0 la tristesse) car celle-ci ne s&rsquo;est pas pass\u00e9e comme pr\u00e9vu.<br>Dans les faits, l&rsquo;affichage du d\u00e9compte des 24H est situ\u00e9 sur la passerelle juste avant la ligne d&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e (des 2 c\u00f4t\u00e9s de la passerelle, voir photo).<br>Celle-ci \u00e9tait \u00e0 z\u00e9ro, mais le pilote de la machine de t\u00eate n&rsquo;\u00e9tant pas pass\u00e9, le drapeau \u00e0 damiers n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9.<br>David croyant la course termin\u00e9e a pass\u00e9 la ligne d&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e avec un superbe wheeling sur une bonne partie de la ligne droite.<br>Quand il a fini son tour il est rentr\u00e9 dans la voie des stands pour aller au parc ferm\u00e9. Le temps de comprendre qu&rsquo;il est rentr\u00e9 trop t\u00f4t il est ressorti trop tard pour faire son tour.<br>Le r\u00e8glement est clair pour \u00eatre pris en compte le pilote doit passer sous le drapeau \u00e0 damiers dans les 5 minutes suivant le vainqueur&#8230;<br>Donc la r\u00e8gle veut que nous ne soyons pas class\u00e9s. Le jury FIM a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 notre cas puis d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9 et ont accept\u00e9 de nous reclasser dernier, soit 31<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et 18<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> de la cat\u00e9gorie Superstock. Alors que nous \u00e9tions 22<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et 12<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> Superstock &#8230;).<br>On ne peut en vouloir \u00e0 David celui-ci est suffisamment effondr\u00e9 par son erreur et cela ne changerait rien. Dans le coeur nous garderons que nous avons fait une bonne course. What a week we had! We were unable to do Pre-Bol tests (end of August) because we lacked the budget. Monday we find our 3 pilots, 2 English who do not know the circuit: David Shoubridge, Tom Oliver (who has never done an endurance race) and Gian Mertens (Belgian). We were only able to do 4 hours of testing on Tuesday then 2 hours on Thursday to fine-tune the chassis, and above all that the drivers get used to the circuit (only Gian had done the 4 Hours Classic of the Sunday Ride at month of June). After an hour and a half of driving each, they are already in 1&rsquo;58! impressive this time of adaptation. On Thursday morning the second free practice session the lap times drop another 1\u201957. During qualifying on Thursday, Tom will be the fastest 1&rsquo;56\u00a0\u00bb4, and in the following lap he improves the first 2 partials, unfortunately at the bend of the bridge a pilot cuts his path&#8230; the 55\u00a0\u00bb was not far !!! it is he who will start the average with David and Gian will make us start in 26th position on the grid. The whole race was solid on the first page of the rankings, very good lap times, and a more difficult end of the race for Tom, but it was his first endurance race. So for the future he now knows what to work on in his physical preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back home last night. Difficult to communicate on the arrival as the emotional lift went from euphoria to disaster (from tears of joy to sadness) because it did not go as planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the 24-hour countdown display is located on the catwalk just before the finish line (on both sides of the catwalk, see photo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was at zero, but the pilot of the leading machine not having passed, the checkered flag was not presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David, believing the race to be over, crossed the finish line with a superb wheeling over a good part of the straight line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When he finished his lap he entered the pit lane to go to parc ferm\u00e9. The time to understand that he came in too early, he came out too late to do his turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rules are clear to be taken into account the pilot must pass under the checkered flag within 5 minutes of the winner&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So the rule is that we are not ranked. The FIM jury studied our case then deliberated and agreed to reclassify us last, ie 31st overall and 18th in the Superstock category. While we were 22nd overall and 12th Superstock&#8230;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can&rsquo;t blame David, he is sufficiently devastated by his mistake and it wouldn&rsquo;t change anything. In the heart we will keep that we had a good race.
